David Skipworth
David Skipworth is an engineering lead and full-stack engineer with more than 10 years of experience building and scaling cloud-based applications, from AI-driven platforms to payment systems and the ERPs they connect to.
Most recently, David designed and built an AI-driven document processing platform from inception through launch, running on Kubernetes with infrastructure as code. Its machine learning models match documents to the right people with 99% accuracy, replacing manual document review.
Before that, during nearly eight years at Versapay, David rose from senior engineer to Engineering Lead and the company's payments subject matter expert, scaling its payment gateway from early stage to more than 100,000 transactions a day and billions in annual payment volume. That work included Versapay's first in-house EMV integration, deployed across North America; cloud-based EMV terminal integrations with Datacap; a JavaScript tokenization API that major merchants adopted to reduce PCI scope; and processor integrations with TSYS, Planet Payment, NMI, and Nuvei.
David holds a BS in Computer Science from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
